HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR...

Proofing Baskets

Natural wood (Rattan) Proofing Baskets have the potential of developing a gray colored mold when not cared for correctly.  Below are a few tips that will prolong the life of your proofing baskets.

Prior to first use:

  • Lightly spray new proofing baskets with pan release (such as the pan release you use for baking tins).

  • Dust with flour.

  • Gently tap the outer sides and bottom of baskets to remove excess flour.

Daily:

  • Gently tap the outside of baskets to remove excess flour and debris.

  • Lightly spray the baskets with pan  release

  • Dust with flour

Monthly:

  • Brush baskets with a dry plastic bristled brush.

  • Lightly spray with pan release.

  • Dust with flour.

Quarterly:

  • Wash baskets by hand with a brush and warm water.

  • Place wet baskets in a 250˚ F oven for 20 minutes.

  • Store warm baskets on rack at room temperature until completely dry.

  • After they are completely dry spray with pan release and dust with flower.

NEVER stack baskets when they are wet or damp.

NEVER store your baskets in plastic.
